Software libre en la migración a sistemas cubanos para la gestión del tráfico aéreo

Abstract

Este artículo presenta los métodos utilizados por la empresa cubana de navegación aérea para cumplir con los objetivos ASBU del bloque 0 identificados para la región. Para ello documenta la importancia y funcionalidad de las infraestructuras críticas CNS/ATM. Identifica los objetivos de la OACI y las necesidades de mejoras de nuestra infraestructura. Identifica los estándares del sector que deben respetarse para lograr lo acordado, así como su carácter multidisciplinario. Realiza una comparación económica con sistemas equivalentes del sector y expone el gasto que representa su adquiición. Justifica la posibilidad de la sustitución parcial o total de componentes mediante software libre para los sistemas implicados y los resultados obtenidos en las etapas de prueba, despliegue y certificación de estos softwares.

This article presents the methods used by the Cuban enterprise for air navigation to fulfill the ASBU goals of the block 0 for the region. To accomplish this it documents the importance and functionality of CNS/ATM critical infrastructures. It identifies the IACO goals and the needs for improvement of our infrastructure, as well as the sector´s standards that must be fulfill to reach what was accorded and the multidisciplinary character of it. The article exposes an economical comparison with equivalent systems of the sector and shows the expenses that it represents. Here is justified the possibility of the partial or total components substitution through free software for the involved systems and the obtained results on the test, deployment and certification phases of these software.
