Passive monitoring in nova servers through a mobile application

Abstract

As part of the software development process and the national migration to free software, Nova Servidores arises, a variant of the Cuban GNU / Linux Nova distribution developed at the Free Software Center (CESOL) of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI). This variant is oriented to the environments of Cuban companies using open standards and uses the Zabbix tool to monitor and control the resources, applications and services of the servers. The present research aims to develop a mobile application for passive monitoring of servers, as an essential task so that the client / user has the certainty, knowing that they are in charge of ensuring the correct functioning of their servers, regardless of the schedule. or the date. This application was subjected to software tests to verify its quality and correct operation. At the conclusion of the investigation, a mobile application was obtained for passive monitoring of Nova Servidores, which allows to alert network administrators to server failures and view the status of resources and services.
